Is Green Infrastructure Coming to Your Neighborhood?

Green Infrastructure

As part of the implementation of the City of New Haven's Long Term Control Plan, many green infrastructure (GI) projects are being constructed in rights-of-way on City streets, sidewalks, and on other municipal properties. GI uses vegetation, soils, and other elements and practices to restore some of the natural processes required to manage water and create healthier urban environments. This helps eliminate stormwater runoff from entering the sewer system. In addition to water quality benefits, GI also beautifies City streets and neighborhoods while improving air quality.
