The Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority (GNHWPCA) funds and maintains a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to ensure that its sewer systems are reliable, safe and efficient while at the same time contributes to protect the environment. Funding for the CIP is provided through the following sources: GNHWPCA’s annual operating budget, revenue bonds, grant reimbursements and grant/loan programs provided by the Connecticut Department of Environmental Projection (DEP) along with other incidental projects required by state agencies such as the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT.)

This project consists of sanitary sewer rehabilitation in Hamden and in the Lower Farm River (Area 10)Sewershed in East Haven. Rehabilitation will include preparatory cleaning, television inspection, cured-in-place pipe lining of approximately 35,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer, installation of approximately 110 lateral connection liners, rehabilitation of approximately 225 manholes, installation of 15 watertight frames & covers, replacement of 15 manhole frames & covers, resetting to grade 25 manholes, reestablishing approximately 485 house service connections and cutting approximately 30 protruding taps. All manholes must be located and all manholes located in an easement must be properly marked using a steel post manhole identification marker.
