The Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority (GNHWPCA) funds and maintains a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to ensure that its sewer systems are reliable, safe and efficient while at the same time contributes to protect the environment. Funding for the CIP is provided through the following sources: GNHWPCA’s annual operating budget, revenue bonds, grant reimbursements and grant/loan programs provided by the Connecticut Department of Environmental Projection (DEP) along with other incidental projects required by state agencies such as the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT.)

To provide On-Call repair services of the sanitary sewer system (generally described as pipe sizes up to 12" and sanitary sewer laterals) in the Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority service area.
Budget: $300,000

Description

The intent of the On-Call Sanitary Sewer Main and Lateral Repairs at Various Locations is to allow the Authority to utilize the services of a Contractor to perform unexpected but necessary repair work on the sanitary sewer system. The Contractor shall make themselves available to provide an immediate response (within 2 hours) in emergencies or high priority repairs as required by the Authority. The Contractor shall work continuously, until the site has been secured and the flow of sanitary sewage is restored, and approved by the Engineer. On-Call assignments vary from year to year; expenditures typically run between $100,000 to $300,000 annually.
