The Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority (GNHWPCA) has officially released a new Grease Interceptor Standard Detail, effective July 3, 2025.

This updated standard aims to enhance compliance, improve maintenance practices, and protect the regional wastewater system from fats, oils, and grease (FOG) blockages. The revised detail reflects the latest in design standards and aligns with both state and local code requirements. All new food service establishments and facilities are required to comply with the new standard moving forward.
