GNHWPCA Weathers the Storm

While “Super Storm Sandy” did not reach elevations in earlier predictions, all time extreme water levels were encountered at our coastal facilities.  These facilities were battened down and operated  throughout the storm.   After the storm, on Tuesday, the Authority had ten of its  thirty facilities on emergency generators. As of Friday afternoon only 3 facilities remained on emergency power, all of which are in East Haven. The GNHWPCA will continue to monitor the recovery as operations return to normal.

This line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to emergencies.  For additional information regarding flooding you can also visit the State of Connecticut’s Department of Health website at www.ct.gov/dph.
