Construction Projects

The Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority (GNHWPCA) funds and maintains a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to ensure that its sewer systems are reliable, safe and efficient while at the same time contributes to protect the environment. Funding for the CIP is provided through the following sources: GNHWPCA’s annual operating budget, revenue bonds, grant reimbursements and grant/loan programs provided by the Connecticut Department of Environmental Projection (DEP) along with other incidental projects required by state agencies such as the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT.)

The project involves total renovation of the existing Arch Street Pump Station. This includes the replacement of 2 dry pit submersible pumps with 3 submersible pumps located outside the building with wet well hatch access. Ancillary improvements will include new generator and upgrades to the electrical and HVAC systems along with building improvements.
Budget: $400,000

Description


The proposed project includes the cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining of approximately 4,400 feet of sewer mains of various sizes, including 12" sewers, 15" sewers, and 18" sewers of different pipe materials including cement, RCP, and VCP. UI will reimburse GNHWPCA for the lining of 1425 feet of sewers on Crown Street, Peck Street, and Ferry Street.
